The Week’s Biggest Winner & Loser

Grow Generation (GRWG)

As recreational cannabis becomes more and more of a thing throughout the United States, who better to profit than the company that makes all the equipment needed to grow cannabis? Grow Generation (GRWG) popped +12.95% this week, earning itself the Biggest Winner spot.

Virgin Galactic (SPCE)

When Virgin Galactic (SPCE) rocketed nearly +50% last week, it was hard to see how there wouldn’t be a pullback this week, and the incredibly volatile SPCE did not disappoint, plummeting -19.62% this week and earning the spot of the week’s Biggest Loser.

What is the Recovery Speculation Basket?

The Recovery Speculation Basket (“Recovery Spec”) represents stocks that will thrive if vaccines are released quickly and we return to normal but have the likelihood of collapsing if more lockdowns occur. These positions are too speculative to have their own allocation and share a single allocation.

Currently, my Recovery Spec stocks are as follows: the Airlines Exchange Traded Fund (JETS) and Carnival Cruise Lines (CCL). They are listed as a single allocation in the portfolio breakdown chart each week.

This Week’s Moves

Airlines ETF (JETS): Added to Position

The airlines saw continued selling pressure this week, kicking off the week down and triggering a buy order I had in place on the Airlines ETF (JETS) which filled at $24.90 on Monday. The order raised my per-share cost from $4.87 to $9.87, still dramatically beneath the sub-$11.30 lows of the pandemic selloff.

From here, my next buy target is $20.00 and my next sell target is $31.85.

JETS closed the week at $24.51, down -1.56% from where I added Monday.
