The Week’s Biggest Winner & Loser

Meta (META)

Meta (META) truly brought it this quarter with blowout earnings in pretty much every category. Combine the profits with an absolutely savage bloodletting with the company terminating thousands and thousands of employees, and you get a stock that finished up +12.86% on the week, earning itself the spot of the Week’s Biggest Winner.

Roblox (RBLX)

Despite not reporting earnings until next week, Roblox (RBLX) made the mistake of releasing monthly user engagement figures showing that everything seems to be dropping off with users not as involved and revenue dropping, too. RBLX easily sank -12.53% this week, becoming the Biggest Loser for the week.

This Week’s Moves

Alphabet (GOOGL): Profit-Taking

Alphabet (GOOGL) continued to rally on Monday, and, with earnings coming up later in the week, I decided it was to take some profits off the table with a sale that filled at $106.55, locking in +25.21% in gains on shares I bought for $85.10 on November 3, 2022, and lowering my per-share cost -2.48% from $96.95 to $94.55.

From here, my next buy target is $85.05, slightly above a key point of resistance a bit above Google’s 2022 low, and my next sell target is $151.55, right at Google’s all-time high where it has seen consistent resistance in the past.

GOOGL closed the week at $107.34, up +0.74% from where I took profits Monday.

Amazon (AMZN): Profit-Taking

Amazon (AMZN) rallied with the rest of tech on Thursday, and with the company reporting after the bell, I didn’t want to take any chances on AMZN disappointing so I took profits with a sale that filled at $110.40.

The sale locked in +31.73% in gains on shares I bought for $83.81 back on Dec 22, 2022 and lowered my per-share cost -9.45% from $74.10 to $67.00. From here, my next buy target is $81.98, a point of support near Amazon’s 2022 low and my next sell target is $146.35, just under Amazon’s high from 2022.

AMZN closed the week at $105.45, down -4.48% from where I took profits Thursday.
