The Week’s Biggest Winner & Loser

Palantir Tech (PLTR)

Palantir Technologies (PLTR) got some love this week along with much of the growth sector, popping +5.94% and earning itself the spot of the Week’s Biggest Winner.

Pinterest (PINS)

If gaining a suitor can cause your stock to rocket, then being left at the altar will certainly do the opposite. This week, PayPal (PYPL) wasted no time announcing that any rumors of it acquiring Pinterest (PINS) were simply rumors. The result? Last week’s darling became this week’s shrew with Pinterest (PINS) careening -23.11% during a generally “up” week. Ouch! PINS definitely earned its Week’s Biggest Loser sash!

This Week’s Moves

Nothing happening here but hand-sitting…

While things were hopping over in the Investments in Play portfolio this week, my speculative positions weren’t moving nearly as much. Of course, if we keep seeing the markets head downward, there are several positions that are starting to get interesting here that I’ll start adding to (*cough* Pinterest *cough*) .

In the meantime, while it can be boring, I have learned over the years that a dull week is one I can use to analyze positions, research new ideas, and, most importantly, sit on my hands and stay as far away from my trades as possible.

Next week will be filled with more opportunities. This week was a break.

Have a great weekend, everyone, and I’ll see you next weekend!
