The Week’s Biggest Winner & Loser

Rivian (RIVN)

Rivian (RIVN) outran the competition this week by a country mile following outstanding performance from its factory. Then, on Friday, a report came out showing that Rivian’s pickup truck is the best-selling EV pickup truck in America. The bountiful good news sent Rivian catapulting +48.08% for the week, easily landing in the spot of the Week’s Biggest Winner!

Nike (NKE)

I thought it was odd when Nike (NKE) reported a pretty crappy quarter with poor guidance last week and no one blinked an eye. Well, I guess everyone was drunk because they certainly woke up to the challenges Nike’s facing at home and in China this week!

Nike fell -5.35% this week, and despite it being a down week for most stocks, that loss was enough to shoehorn Nike into the spot of the Week’s Biggest Loser.

This Week’s Moves

Nike (NKE): Dividend Reinvestment

Nike (NKE) paid out its quarterly dividend on Wednesday, which, after reinvesting raised my per-share “cost” +$0.03 from -$10.52 to -$10.49 (since the reinvested dividend adds shares to the portfolio, it actually raises my per-share “cost.” Without any capital remaining the amount of profit added per-share, now $10.49, is lowered because there are more shares to spread the profit among).

My next buy target is $83.44, a bit above Nike’s low from 2022, and my next sell target is $174.88, below Nike’s all-time high and at a point where the position will have exceeded the maximum target allocation for the portfolio.

See you next week!
