The Week’s Biggest Winner & Loser

Carnival Cruise Lines (CCL)

Despite raging inflation costs, the consumer is still taking vacations – in a big, BIG way. It’s almost like we’d all been forced to stay at home for the past two years or something and now everyone wants to get out, eh?

At any rate, Carnival Cruise Lines (CCL) popped +9.03% this week on the news, bringing home the Week’s Biggest Winner spot.

Advanced Micro (AMD)

When Taiwan Semiconductor (TSM) came out with a report that consumer demand for electronics is dropping precipitously, the party was over for all plays in the semi space. Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), with exposure to consumer computing gaming, and so much more, fell -9.59% this week and slid in as the Week’s Biggest Loser.

This Week’s Moves

Nothing to do two weeks in a row…

This week was the second in a row with no moves – none of the positions have neared profit-taking targets and none have reached buying price targets. This is why it’s important to have hobbies. The worst thing an investor (or trader) can do is to stare at their portfolios all day, get bored at the lack of action, and try to make a move.

For me, I am always excited to see what the market will do next, even if its next move means absolutely nothing to my portfolio on the short term.
