The Week’s Biggest Winner & Loser

Coinbase (COIN)

Bitcoin exploded through the $31,000 mark this week on the back of Traditional Finance (TradFi) agencies teaming up to open a new exchange plus the potential of more institutional buying thanks to proposed spot ETF filings.

Wherever Bitcoin goes, so goes Coinbase, rallying +10.71% on a pretty dismal week, earning itself the spot of the Week’s Biggest Winner.

Canopy Growth Corp (CGC)

Canopy Growth Corporation’s (CGC) sickeningly slow decline into oblivion continued this week as investors jumped ship to avoid what seems to be these cannabis company’s inevitable demise.

Canopy dropped another -17.84% as the markets sold off, a sign of investors who are smarter than me taking their lumps, cutting their losses, and getting the heck out of dodge.

Even in a bad week for stocks, CGC outshone the rest by being the absolute Biggest Loser of the Week.

This Week’s Moves

Skyworks Solutions (SWKS): Dividend Reinvestment

Skyworks Solutions (SWKS) paid out its quarterly dividend on Wednesday which, after reinvesting, raised my per-share “cost” +0.60% from -$34.93 to -$34.72 (a negative per-share cost indicates all capital has been removed in addition to $34.72 per share added to the portfolio’s bottom line in addition to each share’s current value).

Since all of the capital was taken out of this position, the dividend actually increased the per-share cost as there are now more shares to divide the profits into. Fundamentally, the position is worth more, it’s just each individual share is worth less.

From here, my next buy target is $76.47, just above SWKS’ 2022 low, and my next sell target is $128.35, just below a point of resistance SWKS has seen in the past.

See you next week!
