What is the Super-Speculative Basket?
The Super Speculative Basket ("Super-Spec") is made up of a handful of stocks so incredibly volatile that I'm uncomfortable giving any of them full allocations even in my Speculation in Play portfolio, instead dividing a single allocation among all of them.
Currently, my Super-Spec stocks are as follows: the Airlines ETF (JETS), Carnival Cruise Lines (CCL), and Virgin Galactic (SPCE). They are listed as a single allocation in the portfolio breakdown chart each week.
This Week’s Moves
General Electric (GE): Profit-Taking
After receiving positive analyst outlooks over the past week, General Electric (GE) continued its rally and triggered a sell order on Friday which filled at $7.94.
The order locked in +43.32% in gains on some of the shares I bought for $5.54 back on May 13 and lowered my per-share cost -1.52% from $6.60 to $6.50. My next sell target for the stock is $9.80 and my next buy target is $6.05.
GE closed the week at $7.63, down -3.90% from where I sold Friday.
Pinterest (PINS): Profit-Taking
Pinterest (PINS) rocketed to new highs this week after social media chat service Snap (SNAP) reported outstanding earnings. PINS flew through one of my sell orders which filled at $52.90 on Friday.
The order locked in more than a triple (+333.12%) in gains on the remaining shares I purchased for $15.88 on March 10. I have no additional sell targets as we watch where PINS goes from here with my next buy target at $36.90.
PINS closed the week at $53.00, up +0.19% from where I sold Friday.
