The Week’s Biggest Winner & Loser

Yeti (YETI)

It’s not a Sasquatch, it’s not The Missing Link, no, that’s Yeti (YETI), rocking the outdoors with another +4.74% gain to earn itself the spot of the week’s Biggest Winner.

Revolve Group (RVLV)

Revolve Group (RVLV) was last week’s darling after hitting its earnings report out of the ballpark only to get slammed this week down -12.11%. While still up on the year, that profit-taking definitely earns Revolve the Biggest Loser spot.

What is the Super-Speculative Basket?

The Super Speculative Basket (“Super-Spec”) is made up of a handful of stocks so incredibly volatile that I’m uncomfortable giving any of them full allocations in my portfolio, instead dividing a single allocation among all of them.

Currently, my Super-Spec stocks are as follows: the Airlines ETF (JETS), Carnival Cruise Lines (CCL), and Virgin Galactic (SPCE). They are listed as a single allocation in the portfolio breakdown chart each week.

This Week’s Moves

Potential Position: GrowGeneration (GRWG)

While a week without any action may seem boring, it’s worth noting an old stock market adage “Never trade a dull market.” One of the biggest risks an investor or trader can take is to do something when it’s hard to know what to do.

This week, I sat on my hands in the Speculation in Play portfolio. However, I did spend some time researching GrowGeneration (GRWG) a picks-and-shovels cannabis play that sells the equipment to grow cannabis in the United States.

GRWG is the new hotness for Robinhood day traders, so I’m just watching it sell off as lucky speculators take profits. The stock closed the week off -24.17% from its all-time high at $17.35, however seeing as how the stock was trading in the single digits just a week or two ago, I’m going to spend more time watching this interesting play before I put any money to work.
