The Week’s Biggest Winner & Loser

GrowGeneration (GRWG)

With many states legalizing recreational cannabis and Democrats not losing as badly to Republicans as expected, the cannabis sector like GrowGeneration (GRWG) really took off this week. GRWG exploded +72.89%, easily earning the spot of the Week’s Biggest Winner despite it still being down a whopping -64.56% Year-To-Date (YTD).

Golden Minerals (AUMN)

Penny-stocks dance to the beat of their own drum, so even though gold so a significant jump this week, Golden Minerals (AUMN) actually dropped -6.59% (the only position in the entire portfolio to see a down week), earning the spot of the Week’s Biggest Loser.

This Week’s Moves

Airlines ETF (JETS): Profit-Taking

The Airlines ETF (JETS) has been bouncing around just under my profit-taking target for weeks now, quite literally within mere pennies of hitting my sell target. When the market started getting choppy following the election this week, I decided to take a small cut to my profits and my sell order went through at $17.88 on Wednesday.

The sale locked in +11.26% in gains on shares I bought for $16.07 on June 16, and, more importantly, lowered my per-share cost -17.79% from $10.40 to $8.55. From here, my next sell target is around $23.50, just under a past point of resistance, and my next buy target is $14.90, slightly above JETS’ 2022 low.

JETS closed the week at $18.73, up +4.75% from where I took profits Wednesday.
