The Week’s Biggest Winner & Loser

AMD (AMD)

The semis saw love this week with the biggest movers being AMD (AMD), Intel (INTC) and Nvidia (NVDA). In this portfolio, AMD is the only one that matters, and this chip ripped up +5.47% this week to finish as the Week’s Biggest Winner.

Yeti (YETI)

When grill-master Traeger (COOK) reported a horrible quarter with an awful outlook thanks to inflation, the entire outdoor-activities space got slammed including Class of 2018 darling, Yeti Holdings (YETI). YETI got beaten up to the tune of -6.27%, slinking in as the Week’s Biggest Loser.

This Week’s Moves

Do nothing at all?

When it comes to speculative trading, new traders want to always be doing something whether it’s buying into a new position, taking profits on a winning trade, or bailing on a failing trade. However, sometimes, the best course of action is to take no action.

With the markets currently somewhere between the highs and the lows, there’s no widespread action to take here. Sure, if an individual position hits a sell target or a buy target, take the appropriate action, however, there’s no overall market sentiment right now.

The market is not bullish and it’s not bearish. It’s neutral.

If there are oversold or overbought speculative positions you’ve had your eye on, go ahead and make a move. For everything else, take a break. Don’t force a trade that isn’t there. Boredom is the biggest enemy of any trader.
