The Week’s Biggest Winner & Loser

Zillow (Z)

Despite a sea of red, the real estate market is staying red-hot which means Zillow’s (Z) coming back from the dead. Z caught an impressive +9.77% gain during an otherwise crappy week for stocks, easily earning itself the spot of the Week’s Biggest Winner.

DraftKings (DKNG)

With all the crazy incentives offered by online sports betting to get new members to sign up, we knew DraftKings (DKNG) had to be losing money. However, we didn’t know exactly how much until DKNG reported a destructive earning report this week, dropping an eye-watering -25.89% and landing itself the spot of the Week’s Biggest Loser.

This Week’s Moves

Airlines ETF (JETS): Profit-Taking

When the markets popped on Tuesday, the Airlines ETF (JETS) hopped through a sell order I had in place which filled at $23.22. The order locked in +16.10% in gains on shares I purchased for $20.00 on November 26, 2021 and lowered my per-share cost -23.86% from $11.82 to $9.00.

From here, my next sell target is near its post-pandemic all-time high around $29.00 and my next buy target is $19.85, near its low from JETS’ most recent selloff.

JETS closed the week at $22.56, down -2.84% from where I took profits Tuesday.

Carnival Cruise Lines (CCL): Profit-Taking

Despite the rest of the market pulling back on Wednesday, the recovery plays including Carnival Cruise Lines (CCL) saw a quick pop in the morning with CCL triggering a sell order I had in place at $23.20.

The sale locked in +28.89% in gains on shares I bought at $18.00 back on November 26, 2021 and lowered my per-share cost -62.35% from $6.64 to $2.50. From here, my next buy target is $16.75, above a past point of support, and my next sell target is $31.00, just under CCL’s post-pandemic all-time high.

CCL closed the week at $22.17, down -4.44% from where I took profits Wednesday.

Palantir Technologies (PLTR): Added to Position

The selloff in speculative IPOs and SPACs from the Class of the Pandemic continued this week with Palantir Technologies (PLTR) getting positively slammed following an extraordinarily disappointing earnings report.

On Friday, PLTR triggered my next buy order which filled at $11.11, lowering my per-share cost -6.05% from $21.50 to $20.20, a total reduction of -35.87% from my initial buy a year ago on February 12, 2021 at $31.50.

From here, my next buy target is $9.20, a past point of support, and I’ll start taking profits at $21.60, a past point of resistance.

PLTR closed the week at $11.02, down -0.81% from where I added Friday.
