The Week’s Biggest Winner & Loser

Draft Kings (DKNG)

When there’s a big selloff, sometimes there are no winners, only losers, and this week’s Biggest “Winner” is Draft Kings (DKNG), if only for not getting hit as bad as everyone else, down only -0.28%.

Carnival Cruise Lines (CCL)

Whenever there’s a new variant of COVID, the first sector to get hit is travel and the companies within travel that get hit the hardest are the cruise lines (remember the floating petri dishes of death in March 2020???).

Carnival Cruise Lines (CCL), far from the Best-in-Breed in the cruise line space, got slammed on Friday, resulting in a loss of -12.40% for the week and earning CCL the spot of the Week’s Biggest Loser.

This Week’s Moves

Airlines ETF (JETS): Added to Position

Following the World Health Organization’s announcement that they had found a new variant of COVID-19 that could be more contagious than Delta, everything travel sold off with the Airlines ETF (JETS) triggering a buy order at $20.00 after dropping nearly -10% during Friday’s trading.

The buy order raised my per-share cost +$2.03 from $9.87 to $11.90. From here, my next buy target is $15.50, above a past point of support, and my sell target is near $28.75, a bit below JETS’ last bull rally.

JETS closed the week at $20.53, up +2.65% from where I added Friday.

Carnival Cruise Lines (CCL): Added to Position

Just like the Airlines ETF, Carnival Cruise Lines (CCL) crashed alongside the rest of the travel sector on Friday. The selloff triggered a buy order that filled at $18.00, raising my per-share cost +$2.84 from $3.80 to $6.64.

From here, my next buy target is $14.50, slightly above a past point of support, and my next sell target is $33.20, slightly higher than CCL’s last bull rally and below a potential Fibonacci Retracement point of resistance.

CCL closed the week at $17.95, down -0.28% from where I added Friday.

Danimer Scientific (DNMR): Added to Position

Danimer Scientific (DNMR) sold off with the rest of the market this week, triggering a buy order I had in place which filled at $13.25 on Tuesday. The order lowered my per-share cost -1.35% from $14.85 to $14.65.

From here, my next buy target is much lower at $11.50, and my next sell target is $20.25, near the top of its most recent bullish rally.

DNMR closed the week at $13.89, up +4.83% from where I added Tuesday.

Golden Minerals (AUMN): Added to Position

On Tuesday, the selloff in the precious metals sector put undue pressure on Golden Minerals (AUMN) which triggered a buy order that filled at $0.4000. The order lowered my per-share cost -1.246% from $0.4734 to $0.4675.

From here, my next buy price target is $0.3111 and my sell target is $0.9739. NOTE: Golden Minerals (AUMN) is one of the three super-speculative basket positions in the portfolio. These three positions are the equivalent of lottery tickets and I am fully prepared to lose all capital I have in these positions. I thereby recommend that no one follow my lead and buy any of these crazy buggers.

AUMN closed the week at $0.4130, up +3.25% from where I added Tuesday.

Grow Generation (GRWG): Added to Position

Following the news of last week’s inclusion of the Safe Banking Act on one of the bills, the entire recreational cannabis sector returned to its selloff with Grow Generation (GRWG) triggering a buy order on Wednesday which filled at $17.40.

The order lowered my per-share cost -5.028% from $26.85 to $25.50. From here, my next buy target is $15.50, above a past point of support, and my next sell target is $32.40, near the high from its last bull rally.

GRWG closed the week at $17.99, up +3.39% from where I added Wednesday.
