The Week’s Biggest Winner & Loser

Amazon (AMZN)

The markets seemed to finally remember that Amazon (AMZN) exists this week, as the stock has been languishing around these levels since dropping in epic fashion from its 52-week high earlier this year. A +3.16% gain earns Amazon its place as the week’s Weekly Winner.

IDEXX Labs (IDXX)

IDEXX Labs (IDXX) has been having a hard time finding its way since landing a new CEO. A somewhat disappointing quarterly report and a bit of confusion on where the company’s headed has weighed on the stock, causing it to lose -2.12% this week and earning it the spot of the Week’s Loser.

This Week’s Moves

Canopy Growth Corp (CGC): Profit-Taking

Canopy Growth Corporation (CGC) popped up into morning trading on Friday before pulling back significantly, triggering a trailing stop loss order I had in place to reduce the position which filled at $19.05.

While the sale only negligibly reduced my per-share cost by $0.02 from $18.78 to $18.76, it locked in +21.65% in gains on shares I purchased a little over two weeks ago for $15.66.

The sale also effectively reduced my allocation size so I can add back to the  position at my price target of $14.15. I also have additional sell targets to take small profits at $20.48, $21.64 and $27.94.

CGC closed the week at $18.59, down -2.41% from where I sold on Friday.

GW Pharmaceuticals (GWPH): Added to Position

GW Pharmaceuticals (GWPH) suddenly lost nearly -5% on no news during Monday trading despite an overall bullish market, and triggered a trailing stop buy order I had in place on the stock which filled at $97.58.

The buy order lowers my per-share cost -3.46% from $123.16 to $118.90. My next buy target is to add a small amount at $90.25 if GWPH tries to retest its December 2018 lows.

GWPH closed the week at $102.11, up +4.64% from my buy on Monday.

Square (SQ): Profit-Taking

Just like the rest of the markets, Square (SQ) continued higher this week triggering a sell order I had in place at $69.49 on Wednesday.

The sale locks in +21.85% in profits on some of the shares I bought just over two months ago on 9/16/2019 for $57.03. My next profit-taking target is $77.75 with my next buy target at $56.05.

SQ closed the week at $69.12, down -0.53% from where I sold on Wednesday.
