The Week’s Biggest Winner & Loser

Schwab (SCHW)

Schwab (SCHW) reported a decent quarterly report this week, however, when everyone counted the company down for the count during the regional banking crisis, even a mediocre report is better-than-feared and catapulted Schwab skyward.

SCHW finished the week up +13.60% with its “I’m Not Dead, Yet” earnings, buying it the call option of being the Week’s Biggest Winner.

Tesla (TSLA)

This week’s winner gave a mediocre earnings report but Tesla (TSLA) actually blew the doors off the place, exceeding analyst expectations on revenue and profit.

HOWEVER…

The problem came when CEO Elon Musk announced that Tesla would be once again cutting prices on its cars in order to compete with models and that profit margins would be tight for the foreseeable future.

When you’re running a supercharged, high-growth, tech stock, decreasing profit margins are absolutely not what your investors want to hear. Tesla dropped -7.59% on the disappointing guidance, parking it firmly in the spot of the Week’s Biggest Loser.

This Week’s Moves

Roblox (RBLX): Profit-Taking

Roblox (RBLX) rallied with the rest of the market on Tuesday, triggering my next sell order which filled at $45.60, locking in +52.51% in gains on some of the shares I bought for $29.90 back on April 27, 2022.

The sale only lowered my per-share cost -0.11% from $44.90 to $44.85, but served the more important purpose of reducing my allocation size given how frothy the market feels right now. From here, my next buy target is $33.60, just a bit below Roblox’s recent low from May, and my next sell target is $46.15, just under Roblox’s most recent high.

RBLX closed the week at $40.57, down -11.03% from where I took profits Tuesday.

See you next week!
